StepScript Studio

Write step-aerobics choreography as text. Each count compiles to an explicit state — where both feet are, which way each one points, on the bench or the floor, bearing weight or not — and renders as a top-down frame.

Pattern

one move per line · (counts) optional

Reading the frame

legend
Yellow is the left foot, red the right — the colour convention Turnstep used.
Rotation of the footprint is that foot's orientation; the toe dot marks the front.
Solid fill bears weight. Pale fill is a tap: on the surface, no weight.
Dashed outline means the foot is in the air.
K is a knee lift or kick. H is a hamstring curl.
Drop shadow means the foot is up on the bench rather than on the floor.
The bench never moves — you turn around it, so a turn reads as every footprint rotating.
0° faces away from you into the picture; 90° faces the bench's right end.

    Move library

Click a move to append it to the pattern. Entry and exit states are derived by running each move, not declared — keeps lead / swaps lead comes from whether the last foot down takes weight. approx marks geometry that is a reasonable reading of the standard move and is worth a human check.

    Compiled score (JSON)

This is the archival format — one record per count, with absolute beat position, both feet, and body facing.
